About Honey

Honey – ‘Food of the Gods’

Every jar of honey is unique…

Each jar of Honey differs in colour, texture, smell and taste. Honey is a natural blend of sugars, essential oils, traces of minerals and water.

The honey varies depending on the forage – the food that the bees consume coming from the plants in the area that they fly.

Honey will vary depending on regionality as well as the type of forage they are near to. “Local Honey” ‘English Blossom Honey’, ‘Heather Honey’ for example have very different appearances and tastes.

Honey is also competitive and each Beekeeper at the yearly Honey Show will compete for the prestigious accolade of having the best honey in the show as well as making other products using their honey.

Honey is sold in all the major supermarkets however, the independent beekeeper often sells their honey in small outlets, farm shops and from their home.

There are a wide variety of British honeys available both within your regular shopping outlets and locally.
